As per Terre Haute legend, Stiffy the bulldog was crushed when his darling proprietor kicked the bucket in 1921. Stiffy would not walk out on him, and warded running off to Highland Lawn Cemetery to sit inside Heinl's sepulcher. He would consistently re-visitation of the site of his proprietor's grave, snarling and woofing at any individual who he considered to be a danger.
At some point, Stiffy was discovered dead on the means outside the tomb. While trying to respect the committed canine, he was full and his eyes, which were a dynamic green, were supplanted with glass copies. His body was put inside the burial chamber with his proprietor.
In a little while, it turned into a Terre Haute convention to visit Stiffy on dull evenings, and sparkle a spotlight his approach to see his eyes shimmer. Gossip has it that a few people even observed the phantoms of Heinl and Stiffy going for a stroll through the graveyard around evening time.
During the mid 1980s, shots were discharged in the graveyard by miscreants. The projectiles harmed part of Stiffy's head and busted one of his eyes. Heinl's living family members eliminated Stiffy from the tomb so as to ensure him, and gave him to the Historical Society, where he has lived since 1989.
Regardless of whether he is made of concrete or of bones and substance, it doesn't generally make a difference. Stiffy Green has filled in as an image for Terre Haute, Indiana for quite a long time, and he's not disappearing.
